hurd boot problems
hiya
i recently downloaded gnu/hurd using the process outlined at
http://www.gnu.org/software/gnu/easy.html
well, everything seemed to run beautifully until i trued booting from grub.
grub came up, i hit c as the html doco suggested, typed
root=(hd0,2) (my gnu partition is 3rd partition on 1st ide)
worked fine
then
kernel=/boot/gnumach root=hd0s3
response: file not found
i played around and eventually tried the tab key to finish off possible
complete filenames for kernel=/boo
the response was /bootS followed by a weird little >> like character.
trying / followed by tab revealed that probably about half the directories
in / have strange little characters appended to their names.
what went wrong here exactly? how do i fix it?
thanks in advance
