I find the copy of Matthew's guide at http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/easy.html to be more up-to-date than the location pointed to by the main Hurd pages (http://pick.sel.cam.ac.uk/~mcv21/hurd.html). The latter still has links to alpha.gnu.org. But you probably already know that. Anyway, *both* versions say kernel=/boot/gnumach and module=/boot/serverboot where the filenames should have an extra ".gz" at the end. -John
