libc6_2.0.106-0.1_i386.deb is released

Hi, all!

I'm pleased to announce the availability of glibc-1.0.106 packages for
Debian GNU/Hurd i386. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to upload
them to master.debian.org (due to administrative problems involving an
out-of-date PGP key and my pending registration as a Debian
developer).

So, in the meantime, I've uploaded all these glibc packages to
alpha.gnu.org:/gnu/hurd/debian

Since this is my first attempt at building a Debian package, I'm sure
that there will be minor glitches, but I'll leave it to you folks to
find them out. ;) Any help with `Depends' and `Obsoletes' lines (as
well as preinstall/postinstall scripts) would be especially
appreciated.

Building these packages took a lot of space and time: 900MB and three
days was just barely enough! I hope my efforts will save the rest of
you a lot of hassle, and let you get working on porting other Debian
packages to the Hurd.

Once we have a reasonably stable glibc package, I'll get the changes
merged into the official Debian sources, and by then they'll
definitely be available through the usual Debian channels, rather than
just alpha.gnu.org.

As for the next step... if somebody else wants to build a
hurd-19981204 Debian package against this libc (using Marcus
Brinkmann's Hurd package rules as a starting point), please let me
know. Otherwise, I should find time to do it in the next few days.

Have fun,
