Linux can detect SCSI, ATA (IDE), USB and NVME drives but only SCSI and ATA (master) drives can be used as boot devices.
HP-UX only supports SCSI and ATA drives.

If you have access to to a CD/DVD burner, just download the installer iso and burn it.  Then,
use CD drive in c3700 to boot.
