9000/785/C8000 - turn off boot console ttyB0
Hello,
I'm trying to install (over serial) Debian HPPA on my C8000 box but
without success.
I tried Debian stable (2.6.26-2-parisc64), unstable (2.6.30-2-parisc64),
(and gentoo 2.6.24-gentoo-r3-livecd64) but all got the same issue, while
the kernel boots up I got the message "turn off boot console ttyB0" and
here it just waits forever.
Although I do hear that my disks spin up, so it must be busy with
something (it probably just continues but can't show it).
I also tried to install it with a local screen/keyboard also without
success:
Console: colour dummy device 160x64
console handover: boot [ttyB0] -> real [tty0]
After this it has the same behavior as over serial.
Command line: console=ttyS0 TERM=vt102 palo_kernel=0/vmlinux
CPU(s): 1 x PA8900 (Shortfin) at 1100.000000 MHz
Some things I tried:
- Switched graphic card (as suggested on the HPPA linux site); Some HP
Visualize PCI video card, RADEON7000 PCI, Matrox Millenium G2+ AGP.
- Searched the archives.
- Tried different console=(ttyS0, ttyS1, ttyB0, tty0, ...) parameter
- Searched some more :-)
- ...
Someone that could help me out?
Thanks!
Geert
