Install fails on 9000/D320 - kernel panic

Hi All,

I am attempting to install Etch on a 9000/D320 system using the
debian-40r3-hppa-netinst.iso image. But the installer always stops
after the following line:
Freeing unused kernel memory: 328k freed

If I leave it at this stage, it output remains unchanged indefinitely.
If I press a key, it give this error:
Kernel panic - not syncing: Kernel Fault

So far, I have tried (based on searches I did on various forums):
- Updating the PDC firmware
- Changing the RAM disk size (21K, 32K, default)
- Add "pdcchassis=0"

The result is always exactly the same.

The same system runs HP-UX 11.00 and 11.11 (32-bit) successfully.

Complete boot output attached.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
Abhik.
