Identifying firmware revision

Hello,

I'm considering a firmware upgrade for my 712.
I understand that it is never harmful but sometimes helpful to have the
latest revision, did I get that right?

HP has a firmware revision 2.3 for the 712. If I check the information
in BOOT_ADMIN I get a BootRom Version 1.6, is the "BootRom Version" the
firmware revision?
