PS2 mouse 712/60

Dear all,

I am trying PS2 mouse with Debian 3.1r0a 2.6.8-2-32-smp kernel. The
mouse was the original delivered with the 712/60 machine.

I searched the archives and install help as given below and changed
the device to "/dev/psaux" and still it doesnot work. I installed gpm
and started it and changed it to /dev/gpmdata. I set up raw setting in
gpm.conf as suggested in:

xwindows (fluxbox) starts fine and I can see the mouse pointer and desktop.

Should I recompile kernel as given below:

The config files are below:

Many thanks.
