Installing Debian 3.0 on C240

Hi!

I tried a few times today to install Debian 3.0 (2.4.17-32) from what I
think it's the latest version on iso images (I downloaded it about a month ago)
on my C240 (A4125A) and, after booting from the CD it gives me an HPMC. The
last two lines of the output are:

init started: BusyBox v0.60.3-pre (2002.01.21-23:29+0000)
multi-call binary
	High-Priority Machine Check (HPMC): Code=1 regs=102f3080
(Addr=00000000)

I have a A4450A graphich card - Visualize-EG. I managed to install Debian
using the serial console but if I boot the workstation using the graphics card
it can't start the X server.

Have I done anything wrong? As far as I could see (I'm new to the Linux
world, I'm much more used to HP-UX) C240s are fully supported. I saw that
somebody else had the same kind of error with a B1000, I suppose using the same ISO
images.

Just to mention that the same CDs worked perfectly OK on my L1000.

I'm looking forward to having Linux running (with graphics) on my HP box.

Thank you.

Regards,

Adrian
