weird build problem on hppa

Hi,

I have some troubles building one of my packages (libxml-xerces-perl) on
hppa.  as reports a lot of "Error: field out of range" errors. You can
find the build log at

Bdale told me to try to build it with gcc-3.2 but unfortunately it did
not fix the problem. If you want to give it a try, all build
dependencies are installed on paer.

Could any hppa gurus help me with this ?
