gsyprf11:~# dpkg -l apache

ii apache 1.3.20-1.1 Versatile, high-performance HTTP server
gsyprf11:~# uname -a
Linux gsyprf11.external.hp.com 2.4.9-pa49 #8 SMP Fri Oct 12 15:55:43 PDT 2001 parisc64 unknown

I'm confused. I have that version of apache running on my box.
I may have built that myself...but it had to have been before June, 2001.
Has 1.3.20 been out that long?
gsyprf11:/var/www# ls -l /usr/sbin/apache
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 398548 Sep 1 15:21 /usr/sbin/apache
Doesn't look like it. So I'm really confused.
So I grabbed sources and ran:
gsyprf11:/usr/src/apache-1.3.20# dpkg-buildpackage -uc -us -B
...
dh_md5sums -a
dh_builddeb -a
dpkg-deb: building package `apache' in `../apache_1.3.20-1.1_hppa.deb'.
dpkg-deb: building package `apache-dev' in `../apache-dev_1.3.20-1.1_hppa.deb'.
dpkg-deb: building package `apache-common' in `../apache-common_1.3.20-1.1_hppa.deb'.

dpkg-genchanges -B
dpkg-genchanges: arch-specific upload - not including arch-independent packages
dpkg-genchanges: binary-only upload - not including any source code
dpkg-buildpackage: binary only upload (no source included)
gsyprf11:/usr/src/apache-1.3.20#
It seemed to build fine.
(I'm not a debian developer though...not a pristine env).
Hope this helps someone who has a clue.
