That experimental build is for GHC 8.10.7. I notice at https://downloads.haskell.org/~ghc/9.0.2/docs/html/users_guide/9.0.2-notes.html that one of the highlights is "Improved compiler performance and memory usage" which sounds promising (but possibly is only compared to 9.0.1, not compared to 8.x).
