Re: Hipmunk and chipmunk 6.1.5



Are you changing the build of Hipmunk to use the system libraries?  As
you probably have already heard by a lot of other upstream devs, that
has never been supported ;-).

Hipmunk is in very light maintenance mode.  By that I mean that I only
fix trivial things and merge other people's code.  Keeping up with
Chipmunk's new versions is non-trivial most of the time so I don't do
that anymore.  That's why I don't encourage using newer versions
blindly.  Also, there were a couple of times when Chipmunk changed an
assumption about the code without breaking the API, so I used to check
the whole diffs on every upgrade to ensure that Hipmunk wasn't relying
on something that had changed.

I'm not sure what the best solution is.  Upgrading Hipmunk isn't
trivial and I don't have the time or motivation to do that.
