But in these cases, the _upstream code_ needs to be fixed, as already the _cabal file_ specifies the upper bound of < 0.6 on test-framework. So you can * ask upstream to release a new version or * see if the current code works with 0.6 without any changes besides the cabal file (which you’d modify in a patch in debian/patches) or * see if you can do the necessary changes to make the package in question compile with 0.6 (again in debian/patches), and submit the patches upstream.
