Re: RFP: haskell-fuse -- Haskell bindings for FUSE: Filesystem in USErspace

Hi folks, since I CCed this list with the RFP I thought I
should explain myself.

I used haskell a little during my undergrad degree between
2001-2004, but haven't really looked at it much since, until
recently. I decided to try and implement a simple program
using Haskell as an attempt to re-learn it and see what the
current state of play was.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how useable and efficient
things like GHC have become in that time. In addition, the
support for haskell and haskell libraries in Debian is
fantastic. Well done folks!

I want to write a FUSE filesystem in Haskell and hfuse seems
to be the library to use. Having said that, there seems to
be some confusion over what version is the most recent and
where it lives.

I've yet to actually get hfuse working but assuming I do,
and assuming that it works well enough, I would want to look
at packaging it. I will therefore look into joining the
debian-haskell packaging effort when I do.

Thanks,
