And of course, a compiler does not do IO while it is thinking. (This does of course not mean that there is no bug, it’s just that the strace is no indication of a bug.) I’d be veriy surprised to find that the program goes into an infinite loop on one arch, but not on the other, but I can not outrule it alltogether.
