Alex version 2.2 vs. 2.3.1

Hi,

I noticed that while http://www.haskell.org/alex/ only knows about 2.2,
there is a 2.3.1 on hackage. Does this mean that the homepage is just
outdated, or is 2.3.1 a non-stable release and for production use, 2.2.
should be continued to be used?

The docs do not seem to contain a changelog for 2.3.1. Are there any
breaking changes that need consideration before uploading alex 2.3.1 to
Debian?

Greetings and thanks,
Joachim
