Hi, I think I mentioned it here before: The ocaml guys now use virtual packages to ensure that the dependencies are correct and recompilations are done when needed: See http://upsilon.cc/~zack/blog/posts/2009/11/Enforcing_type-safe_linking_using_package_dependencies/ and (for the academically inclined) http://upsilon.cc/~zack/research/publications/jfla10-dh-ocaml.pdf I think our system, although technically inferior, is ok for the moment.
