I also looked at the Darcs repository for cabal-debian, but I couldn't
get that to work at all.
So while I think this work is a good starting point, I strongly feel
that there is a long way to go before it could be used for official,
policy-compliant Debian packages.
Would it be feasible to organise things so that the official Debian
packages are maintained as patches to the output of cabal-debian? This
should help with some of the tedious update tracking and could make the
jump from unofficial auto-generated package to official Debian package
