What do you gain:
If there is a sever problem with your ghc-pkg data base, you might not
be able to remove haskell library packages.

It really depends on the situation in which this will actually make a
difference, and I can’t forsee them.
But I do think that having the same scripts in all library packages is
worthwhile, so I’d suggest you use haskell-devscript’s script (or use
haskell-devscripts directly), and we can discuss if this script should
be improved.
