RE: Linux for C700 Zaurus
Has anyone has issues upgrading from pdaXrom to OpenZaurus?
I downloaded the 3 files I need to flash my C700 with the OZ bootstrap
install so I can put Debian on it..
However, after I reboot holding down "ok" doesn't work for me as I did when
I had Cacko on it??
I tried c+d but the lights just flashed??
Should I still hold down "ok" when pdaxrom boots?
Cheers,

Nevermind..
I can get to the site now ;)
I'll see if OZ / Debian treats me better than pdaxrom as it kept locking up
on me????.

Hmmm
I can't get to http://pocketworkstation.org/files/ ???
I have pdaxrom installed now on my C700 but it seems to freeze on occasion (
however, the keyboard still works ).
I'm also having problems finding packages that I need.. Perl for example.. A
lot of the links to pages seem to be broken.
I would prefer to have debian on the C700 so I can use debian packages..
However, I will need to locate the debian install files first...
Is anyone supporting debian on the Zaurus anymore?
Cheers,
JP

Hi Joshua,
If you have a large enough SD card, you can try installing the latest
version of openzaurus (http://www.openzaurus.org), then use e.g.
debootstrap to install Debian to the card; OZ comes with a handy bootloader
that will let you boot OZ (off the flash partition), or select an image on
either of the expansion slots to boot from. (This is what I did on the
C1000; I've also attempted to use the same procedure to install directly to
flash, with various levels of success :)
Btw, pocketworkstation.org seems (from here) to be up.. you can find the
archives at http://pocketworkstation.org/files/ .
