Asking here is the right way, or filing a bug.
Unfortunately the window for getting new package versions into the
upcoming Buster release has closed, so the new version would be in
experimental or unstable only.
Not sure if Iain has time to update the package now. Maybe you could
give it a try? The Git repo is at
