Bug#882419: ax25-tools: Install and Removal required configured ports wo rc-script won't fail
Package: ax25-tools
Version: 0.0.10-rc4-2
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
During my last apt upgrade this package failed every time, I don't remember but probably in the pre-removal part
when the init script was called to stop the running daemons.
Yes I have a serial usb attached kiss device, which was not present, thus the port not existing.
thus the deamons like mhardd or ax25d reported not being able to find a port and exited non zero.
So usualy I then do a dpkg --purge --force all to solve such issues, this did not do the trick.
I had to add an exit to the start stop and restart cases in /etc/init.d/ax25-tools script to make dpkg
completely remove the package.
I checked that also /etc/init.d/ax25-tools was gone and then did re-install the upgraded package.
Same problem post-install failed because the init-script failed because of no configured ports.
Well when you install a package, how are you supposed to have configured the files which come
with this installation prior to that installation? :-)
