Bug#852028: xastir: cannot open serial port after accessing with minicom

Dear Maintainer,

I made a very strange observation. I have an old serial TNC2400 which I would like
to use with xastir. So to test the whole I usualy connected to the TNC with minicom
to put it in KISS mode. I use a PL2303 USB to serial converter. Did try two different
manufacturers!

After that I fire up xastir and start the KISS interface connected to that serial port.

=> xastir hangs. strace shows that hanging occurs during the open call to the port.
Like the port was locked by some other application. But lslocks does not show
any locks.

Also opening the port again with minicom, even while xastir is running, works without
problem.

Unplugging and re-plugging the USB port does not solve the problem, unless the device
is in use and re-plugging it creates a new device node.

xastir can access that new serial USB device, until I access it with minicom, then the
same problem also occurs on that new USB device.

I'm not sure if xastir or minicom are to blame.

Any idea of what could confuse xastir to make it unable to open a serial port previously
accessed by minicom?

Hello,

Is that a package from some Debian repo, or compiled from sources? And what distro is it? (I compiled it from sources in Wheezy, and it works pretty good, although I noticed it is terribly slowing down the machine while trying to get the map tiles from the network.)
