WSJT crashes with native package install

A group of us are working on getting WSJT running on raspbian.  Thus far we have sound working nicely on usb dongles but I'm seeing the following (fatal) runtime error.

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ wsjt

How can I fix this and get wsjt to run on Raspberry Pi Under Raspbian? (yes I know this list is listed as debian maintainers, but apt-cache show wsjt in raspbian lists this address as the package maintainer.)

Thanks for the help,
