Thanks for the tip, Jeff.  I had tried to compile 3.21.9 locally as I
had done with previous versions and met this same issue.  A post to the
linux-hams list turned up no solution so I tried Kamal's 3.21.9 package
and it worked until the 3.21.10 upgrade.
