Arjan, please CC any correspondence to the bug report
(338985@bugs.debian.org etc) so that we can all see it and it is
archived.

Some comments about your bug reports on fbb and libax25:

User-space applications (fbb, libax25 etc) cannot be the cause of a
kernel crash. Only a kernel bug can do that. (Well, root can cause a
crash by screwing around in /proc but assume the ax.25 apps are not
doing that.) So if there's a compatibility issue causing a crash then
it's a kernel bug.

Secondly I don't think there actually are any compatibility issues
between libax25 and different kernel revisions as you suggested. This
has been suggested on linux-hams a few times and I don't think anyone
has proven it.

Thirdly Kernel 2.4 was known to have lots of AX.25 bugs. They are fixed
in 2.6, well and truly in the etch (and later) distributions.

Finally, kernel 2.4 is obselete in lenny. If you can reproduce the bugs with
linux 2.6 then that is useful, but the bugs were probably in the
2.4 kernel rather than the apps anyway.
