Yep, using a script that includes:
# Firmware-TNC's placed into kiss mode

echo -e "\r\033@K1\r" > /dev/ttyS0 <---- this puts TF27 chip into KISS

Have used minicom to test TNC is woring and does go into kiss. LED's
flash three (3) times..
