node/ax25d goes on the runn

Hi

Running here a node with internet access.
This is the up-to-date Debian-sage with 2.4.27 kernel
The system is a dual pentium III-450 with the smp kernel installed, but also tried the
single kernel

I have noticed that from time to time a disconnect from the node or application (like
dx-cluster) the node makes very quick a connect/disconnect.

A look with listen gives a disconenct/connect :
com1: fm DF5EY to PI4CC ctl DISC+ 17:55:54

com1: fm DF5EY to PI4CC ctl SABM+ 17:55:54
There are more than 300 line in a second !

This wil take CPU time and a grep node gives:
root 22972 0.0 0.1 1756 796 ? S 11:23 0:00 /usr/sbin/node
root 27489 0.0 0.1 1756 796 ? S 15:56 0:00 /usr/sbin/node
root 28449 0.0 0.1 1756 796 ? S 16:36 0:00 /usr/sbin/node
root 29682 41.3 0.1 1756 792 ? R 17:59 1:25 /usr/sbin/node
root 30272 0.0 0.1 1720 556 pts/1 S+ 18:02 0:00 grep node

Killing procces 29682 makes the system happy and listen become nomal

Anu clue where to look to correct this?
