Xastir map not seen

Hi
I am using Debian-3.0r2-i386 vanilla.
Modem using BayPac BP-2M
Packet terminal LinPac
I have installed Xastir I am receiving station data but with no map.  I 
have copied the map that I want to use in the /usr/share/xastir/maps/usa
but I am not seeing the map that I choosen.  What do I need to do to get 
this to work where I can see the map.  I have read Xastir documents
What do I need to do next to get the map seen.
