I thought I had already installed the apps.  Getting to grips with this apt-get 
stuff now!

Well I have managed to connect to my local node using call.

All I need to do now is setup:

Auto mail download from my local BBS and allow Winpack to read it
Replace UI-View running as an Igate with aprsd??
Convince my local sysop to reopen his ampr port.
Add all of this to my Broadband router and I am sorted.

Thanks for all the help guys,  I am sure I will be back with some more questions;-)

One last question, how do I stop my system starting Xserver automatically at boot?
I am  mainly using SSH to control this box so dont need it at the moment.
