I really like the idea of voice over IP.  We have some good software for that.  
I also like the idea of Echolink.  I would like to be able to access a 
repeater from my *nix box.  What I *really don't like* is having to deal with 
M$ code on my *nix box.  This box is too pure for that kind of business. :(

I think that the net might soon be readily accessible on any land or water 
surface on this planet.  Amateur spectrum Propagation often fails in many 
places where commercially accessible spectrum doesn't, so the idea of being 
able to access a remote repeater or simplex link via the net appeals to my 
since of ham-ness.

Perhaps the hackers of Echolink will begin a valid port of their code to *nix 
so we can experience this application natively?
