Re: Getting new libax25 ready

Hello, everybody.

Since I just adopted the ax25 packages, I thought I would follow through on the plan which Patrick had written last month. I put new packages of libax25 0.0.11 and new ax25-tools and ax25-apps in people.debian.org/~w1bw. I have not had a chance to test the operation of these myself yet, just the building/installation (nor did I make any changes to ax25-{apps,tools} other than rebuild against the new libax25-dev). I'll try to at least use these a little in the next day or two at home before uploading, or if you prefer, I can just throw them into unstable right away. Feel free to test in the meantime.

just about everything. I'll be recompiling the ax25apps
and ax25tools against the new libax25 too.

Only programs using libax25io will break, or actually they will go back to pre-0.0.10 behaviour.

Asking on linux-hams we concluded that the only programs using libax25io are LinuxNode and it's derivatives (FlexNode, AWZnode). For LinuxNode a fixed package already exists (version 0.3.1).

Craig said that the libax25io change was the only change in 0.0.11 so I wouldn't expect any problems. Of course it doesnät hurt to be careful...
