Hi John, thanks for the note! Since KPSK was created for KDE 3.x, you'll
need that to get it going, as well as QT 3.0.3 or better. I have been able
to run it on Debian 3.0r0, but it takes a lot of determination to get there
 (I've also run it on Slackware 8.1, Mandrake 8.2 & 9.0, Red Hat 7.3 & 8.0):
 1. Compile and install from source QT 3.0.3 or better (current is 3.0.6)
 http://trolltech.com
2. Compile and install from source KDE 3.0.3 -- takes a long time to do, but
is WONDERFUL once done. You don't need all the KDE source, just the bare
minimum -- see the KDE "compiling from source" docs for more on that. The
unofficial KDE 3.0.2 .deb packages in sid are in my opinion, junk....I have
tried them a couple of times and really messed things up with them (guess
that's why they call it "sid"--teh one that breaks things). :)
3. You will most likely need to modify the kpsk/logcore.h file to reflect
the proper location of BerkeleyDB 3.3 or better's db.h file. See the docs
for more information on doing this...you'll probably need to modify it to
eliminate a few lines of code & add '#include <db.h>' in their place.

Not the best circumstances for getting it running on Debian, but it is
because Debian is very deliberate about testing and implementing new
software into its distributions. I get frustrated by not having hte most up
to date stuff, but I've enjoyed its dependability. When not using Debian, I
like Mandrake 9.0 very much. If you'd like to try it, I could send you a
set of CDs in trade for 4 first class postage stamps....up to you.

I hope you are able to get it running on your system; I can verify that it
can be done, but it does take some determination to get there. :)

Let me know if I can be of any additional assistance....I'll do what I can to
help.
