Well thanks for the hint which makes things slightly better even if I
seen absolutely no reason to hide such a feature. If you ask me it is
a) bad design
b) does not work reliable in any case - sometimes it does not expand
directories (can't find out a rule yet, will keep an eye on it)
or moves the focus around

Thanks for the further hint. Gnome people seemed to have done a great job
in hiding very nice features.

You people changed my view a little bit but I stick on my opinion that
hiding features people are comfortable with is bad.
