That's, oh, so broken.
* Some GNOME apps need gnome-settings-daemon to be running in order to
behave the way the user configured them
* These apps don't start gnome-settings-daemon by themselves
* Some people happen to use these apps without using gnome-session or
gnome-control-panel (or whatever it is that normally starts this up
in a GNOME session)
I have:
if command -v gnome-settings-daemon > /dev/null 2>&1 ; then
gnome-settings-daemon
fi
which I know seemingly need to change to:
if command -v gnome-settings-daemon > /dev/null 2>&1 ; then
gnome-settings-daemon &
else if test -x /usr/lib/control-center/gnome-settings-daemon
/usr/lib/control-center/gnome-settings-daemon &
fi
And this is madness, because I need to hardcode random paths in my
.xsession now.
If gnome-settings-daemon is to be run by users, why isn't it somewhere
in the default PATH?
