I did just that to give it a try and I got stuck at hicolor-icon-theme.
It seems to have one file in common with kdelibs-data

-------------------------------
(Reading database ... 123450 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking hicolor-icon-theme (from .../hicolor-icon-theme_0.5-1_all.deb)
...
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/hicolor-icon-theme_0.5-1_all.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/share/icons/hicolor/index.theme', which is
also in package kdelibs-data
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/hicolor-icon-theme_0.5-1_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
------------------------------------------------

What would be the "recommended" way to get pass this error? dpkg-divert?
