Please please please don't do massive uploads to unstable before firefox
gets finally built on sparc. It's been too long waiting in the queue for
it to go 50th now ! Firefox has not been built on sparc since 0.9.3-6,
there have been 11 uploads since this particular release and it's
getting frustrating.
Alternatively, if someone with a sparc could make the build, i'd be very
happy (joshk tried (many thanks), but has not enough memory,
unfortunately).
Now, to come back on gnome 2.8 to unstable, I think it would be a good
occasion to push libxml2 and libxslt at the same time. They *are* gnome
libs, and they also got a lot of testing (at least libxml2), considering
how many times the libxml2 2.6.15 breakage has been reported. The only
"problem", is that they have an updated shlibs, because the libs expose
more symbols, even though these symbols, as usual, are not likely to be
used by any application for a while (i.e. stuff compiled against libxml2
2.6.16 is binary compatible with the current testing version).
Additionally, there have been a lot of leak cleanups in libxml2 2.6.16,
and upstream strongly recommends everyone to update to this version.
Are there any objections from the RMs ?
