GNOME smb module and i18n

Hi,

I wonder if I'm the only one seeing this bug or if anyone can reproduce.

The gnome-vfs-extras2 package, more exactly the smb GNOME-VFS module
(libsmb.so) has a strange effect on my desktop, i.e. on nautilus: As soon
as nautilus loads the library (it appears to be doing that on startup),
it's localisation is being messed up, I get a horrid mixture of German
and English instead of a fully translated interface. In particular, the cut and copy files menu entries are affected and the nautilus preferences dialogue.

When I rename libsmb.so or move it out of the way and then restart nautilus,
the localisation is in order again. I have reproduced it on several boxes. 

I reported this to upstream ages ago

But I never got any substantive response. 

I find this bug very annoying and user visible. Since both Nautilus and
the smb module are vital parts of GNOME, I'm very surprised, that so far
upstream doesn't seem to care. The only explanation I have is that I'm the
only one affected.

Therefore I wanted to ask if any other non-English speakers here are seeing the
same. I have so far reproduced this in German, French, Bulgarian, Basque,
Belarusian, i.e. every locale that I tried. 

If you can reproduce, do you have any
idea about who is the culprit?
