Font differences between GNOME in SID and GNOME default
Hello list,
I am wondering what are actually the differences in font settings
between the upstream GNOME distribution and the Debian packages. Somehow
the upstream GNOME distribution fonts settup is different from the
native Debian one if you look at this screenshot:

The Xnest window shows my desktop and font settings in my self-compiled
GNOME 2.5.4. Notice the difference: The fonts in my Xnest are much nicer
IMO and somewhat thicker.
Is this a difference in the configuration of fontconfig or something. Or
does it have something to do with defoma? (I'm not really into fonts and
how Debian or GNOME arranges them)
Bottom line is. How do I get my fonts like on the upstream distro of
GNOME.
Thanks in advance,
Michiel.
