Problem with gnome-settings-daemon

Hi,

has anyone the same problem with gnome-settings-daemon? At the first
login after reboot, everything is fine. If I logout and re-login as any
(same or other) following error window pops up:

>There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
>
>Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not
>work correctly.
>The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
>The last error message was:
>Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure >occurred
>GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you >log
in.

I can start the daemon per command in a xterm and it works then. But its
annoying.

Anyone a idea to correct that?

Thanks,
Gunther
