I believe this is orphaned. I'll probably NMU this as I want it in the
next release, just in case GNOME 2.4 doesn't make it in (I added code to
gnome-settings-daemon to do a similar job)

I'm starting to think that "renders package unusable" bugs should be RC
unless they affect lots of people...
Executive summary: a large proportion of these RC bugs are FTBFS. These
maintainers should be ashamed :) If I get the time I'll do some NMUs.
