I know that gdm segfaults on the graphical greeter if some font isn't
present. This has been happening for a very long time, and neuro knows
about it.

I always solved it installing gsfonts, xfonts-scalable and bitstream
vera. I don't know if the 3 are needed or just one of them does, but
that fixes it.

Anyway, this probably isn't the same problem as you're reporting...
