Worked fine, of couse. Thanks.

I've been programming and doing system design for over 12 years, mainly in Windows. I need to find a Linux primer to get past these basic issues. One night I'll make an evening of the How-To files....

Simply add yourself (or any user that needs sound) to the : 29(audio)
group.

A simple (under root) :

# adduser <yourself> audio

should do the trick.
