I don't find these in my menus either.  I haven't just upgraded - I've
been running the experimental stuff for ages, but I'm sure I remember
seeing the home folder there in the past, but it isn't there any longer.

The only entries I have under "Desktop Preferences" are "Accessibility"
and "Advanced" (a submenu) and I'm pretty sure this is the way it's
always been for me.

I've just got used to typing "gnome-control-center" into a terminal
window :-)
