I've been using vte for a while, and it has its problems. Namely when
switching back from raw mode (e.g. with VIM) you can't cut/paste with
mouse anymore: it still sends ctrl chars directly to the apps when
pressing mouse buttons. And sometimes arrow keys don't work. And it's
really slower too.
But I still use it because it has no font problems.
