Hello. In trying to compile fontconfig, it looks for libxml2 and after installing libxml2-dev, it still complains that it's not there. checking for libxml/parser.h... no configure: error: cannot find either libxml2 or expat Apparently, libxml2-dev installs it's headers into /usr/include/libxml2/libxml/ Once I did this cp -r /usr/include/libxml2/libxml /usr/include The compile went fine.
