Great, I'll be sure to run it for a day or two once it's available. I'll
probably switch back to Metacity afterward since it has proven extremely
responsive and I happen to like my WMs that way. ;) My biggest interest
in Sawfish2 was that Metacity wasn't restarting itself when something
killed it.
A workaround for that problem in Metacity:

This patch comes from Gnome bug 75047, and has been rejected by Havoc as
the wrong fix for the problem. Since I'm currently using Metacity out of
CVS pending a new release which (I hope) fixes this problem correctly, it
works well enough in the interim.
The reason for all this worry about the WM not restarting itself is
because of a strange crash where fourteen gnome-terminal2's and Metacity
died when I changed my desktop font. This problem is, unfortunately,
unreproducable. I can't guess if it was perhaps a fluke or a very real
bug with some strange trigger condition. =(
