location policy of gnome2 applet binaries

hi list..

i am currently developping a gnome 2 applet (upstream and debian
packaging) and wonder where to put the binary.
do you know of any policy regarding the location of the file? due to
the bonobo-activation server, the panel does not care about it, only the
.server-file has to be at the right place.
i did not find a hint in this list's archive or at gnome.org or in the panel
writer's reference.
/usr/libexec, as i thought first (and saw in the led-applet), does not seem
to be FHS-compliant, though. the applets from libpanel-applets2-0 go to
/usr/lib/gnome-applets. should i use that? on the other hand, the
fish-applet-2 goes to /usr/lib/gnome-panel.
or just put it into /usr/lib?

tia,
 sebastian
