Some things stopping me from upgrading to Gnome2

Hi all,

I just upgraded to Gnome2 on my toy system at home, and I found some
things that currently prevents me from upgrading my real system to
Gnome2:

 - I am terribly short of preferneces in Nautilus (and the menu). I
checked the contents of /etc/gnome-vfolders-2.0/vfolders/ against
what was supposed to be there (dpkg -S
/etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/vfolders/*). Nothing unexepected. I need to be
able to change my window manager to further test Gnome2. (I also
tried to use the 'registry editor' to switch window manager, I think
I managed to use it to accomplish that when I was using Gnome2 on
Gentoo a few months back, but this brought me nothing this time. My
memory might fail me on this one though.)
 - At start it displays an error dialog with the following text:
The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.

     The last error message was:

     Failed to activate 'OAFIID:GNOME_SettingsDaemon

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you
     login.

How do I get it to go away?

/M
